Spring Trends: (Not So) Mellow Yellow

If you, like me, spent too much time pouring over fashion magazines and online runway spreads these past few weeks, seems like there was one color on every designer's mind for SS '17: yellow. The sunny shades were spotted on the catwalk for Jason Wu, Gucci, Kate Spade NY and many others.  Some find yellow intimidating to wear, so here are a few outfits we thought anybody could rock.

Cool Girl, Cold Shoulder

For the everywoman who wants something a little subtler than a style ripped directly from the runway: the cold shoulder top! In addition to the color yellow, voluminous bell sleeves are still a fashion staple this season. Black pants and a chunky heel make it comfortable and simple; a statement necklace brings it all together.

Smooth Like Butter

If bumblebee yellow is a little too much, how about something like this? A buttery blonde shift is a perfect spring pick-me-up. Throw on a jean jacket and you're brunch-ready; try it with a blazer and the office is now your catwalk. Once the temperature heats up, this sweet yellow number paired with some cute sandals works as a garden party staple, too.

C.E.O of Fun

Office activities can be dreary but you don't have to dress the part. Break the vicious cycle of black blazers and try something a little more colorful!  A yellow jacket would also pair beautifully with a navy pant and a coordinating scarf for a more nautical look come summertime.

What do you think? Are you going to incorporate some yellow into your wardrobe this spring? If you do, be sure to let us know and post your outfit inspiration on the Lela facebook page or in the comments below!
